Dear Emeritus: Congress has now passed, and the president has signed, albeit with "reservations,"  the National Defense Appropriations Act, with Amendment 1031, which allows for the military detention of American citizens. Ninety-three Senators voted to support this bill and now most of Congress, which means indefinite military detention for U.S. citizens is now in the hands of a secretive conference committee. Wherever democratically elected Benito and Adolf are, surely, they must be grinning. Obama signed the suspension of habeas corpus, albeit promising never to use it. The candidate supported by liberals and progressives and for whom most will vote — Barack Obama — advocates views on these issues (indeed, has taken action on these issues) that liberals and progressives have long claimed to find repellent, even evil. What causes you to be blind to the truth and unwilling to admit the chrysalis is turning into a dragon! I am dumbfounded that you've fallen for the propaganda. And will you tell me why Obama is sending special forces troops to Uganda? To join the civil war there?  Troops will also be sent to South Sudan, Congo and Central African Republic. However, they will only "engage" for "self-defense," says Obama. With Libya secured, an invasion of Africa is under way. Is this an additional reason to reelect Obama?
